Cress Creek Country Club participates in the Naperville Summer Subdivision Water Polo League. The Cress Creek Rebels field either two or three teams, depending on participation. There is a U11 Coed team comprised of boys and girls ages 8 through 11. And there is a U14 Coed team with boys and girls from 12 to 14 years old. Some seasons we also have a U14 girls team.
The goal of the program is to teach the game of water polo to our young members; to create a fun and enjoyable environment for them; and to provide a friendly inter-team competitive opportunity for our youth. Many of the Cress Creek water polo players go on to play for the local club team, West Suburban Water Polo; and many play competitive water polo at Naperville North and other local high schools. We have won numerous league championships in all age groups.
The season starts in late May/early June and ends around mid-July. We have 2 practices weekly in the early afternoon after swim practices end, and then typically have 3 matches per week on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday evenings. The season ends with the U11 and U14 tournaments and then a banquet.
Rebels Water Polo is a great addition to the Rebels Swim Team. We work closely with the team on scheduling so that none of our practices or matches conflict with any swim practices or meets. Most of the polo players and coaches are also swimmers (although you do not have to do both). Because Cress Creek is the only swim club in Naperville with 2 pools, almost all of our matches are at home, at Cress Creek. This makes it easy on the players and parents, and makes for really enjoyable evenings at the club. You can have a couple drinks and dinner at the club and watch your kids play polo. And polo matches take about 45 minutes; not 4 to 5 hours like a swim meet!
We encourage anyone interested in water polo to come and check out the Cress Creek Country Club Rebels Water Polo team. For more information you can email Matt Rees at email@example.com. Follow us on Instagram at CCCC_Rebels_Polo.
