CCCC Water Polo Team

Cress Creek Country Club | Water Polo

Cress Creek Country Club has a long tradition of outstanding water polo teams. There are three separate teams: U11 Coed for boys and girls 11 years old and younger (as of June 1), U14 Coed for boys and girls 14 years old and younger (as of June 1 and not having yet attended high school), and U14 Girls. Most swimmers can begin playing water polo at age 8, or potentially as early as age 7 if they are strong swimmers.

The program is open to all players, regardless of previous playing experience. Many of our players have never played before.  All players will have the chance to play in every regular season match.

Practices start June 1st, with the first meet played on Monday June 5th. The season ends with the city championship tournament on July 11th. We also have an awards banquet on July 19th. None of the practices or matches conflict with any swim practices or meets. Water polo is perfectly complimentary to swim team.

The teams practice twice a week (typically Monday and Wednesday) for an hour between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm for U11 and 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm for U14 Coed & Girls. Attendance at all practices is not mandatory to play in matches but is encouraged. We are flexible as we understand that many players participate in multiple sports during the water polo season.

Matches are typically held on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays. The majority of the matches are hosted at the club, except for a handful of matches at other Naperville pools. Warm-ups typically start at 5:30 pm, U11 Coed plays at 6 pm, followed by U11 Girls (if both teams have enough players), then U14 Coed. Each match is generally completed in approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Some away matches on Sundays may be held in the late morning.
